gladly would I have him come to me, that there might be peace between us, and I would count it as the greatest honour I've ever had," would not everyone agree that this man is willing to be reconciled?

Surely, God does the same. In Exodus 34:6, the Lord, when proclaiming His glory as Moses desired, caused His glory to pass by him, saying, "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin." As if God were saying, "Moses, do you wish to see My glory? This is it – that I am merciful, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin. Here is the height of My glory; this is where My magnificence is known."

Another remarkable passage is Isaiah 30:18: "Therefore will the Lord wait that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you." How is God exalted? By having mercy upon you! The Lord considers Himself exalted when

He shows mercy to a sinner. Surely, He is very willing to be reconciled with sinners when He counts Himself exalted when they come to Him and believe in His Son. "Now am I exalted," says God,

"this is what my soul glories in; this I consider to be my happiness."

God is exalted in showing mercy, and this concludes this argument.
