Hearing God’s Voice (GG)

Hearing God’s Voice (GG)

HEARING GOD’S VOICE

When Mary went to the garden tomb on the first Easter morning, she did not know the Lord right away. She took Him to be the gardener until He spoke her name. That brought recognition. Instantly she responded, “Master!” (And we know by those two forms of address, “Mary” and “Master,” something important about their relationship.)

In Isaiah we read, “Thus saith the LORD that created thee,. . . I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine” (43:1 KJV).

How shall we hear that call? Some in our own day have heard voices, we are told, but I am not one of them. There has never come to me anything audible. But I have found that the Lord knows how to call us. (Strange that I should be surprised at that!) He knows the best way to get our attention, and if we are ready to listen or to be shown, we will hear or see whatever it is He has chosen as His means.
