Selected Bibliography

Unless otherwise noted, I have used the translation of Athanasius’s works from the nineteenth-century collection of The Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, second series, vol. 4, Athanasius: Select Works and Letters, edited by Philip Schaff and Henry Wace. Available online at www.newadvent.org/fathers/index.html. Slight changes have been made throughout to bring the translation into conformity with contemporary American usage.

Khaled Anatolios has a good selection of freshly translated texts in his Athanasius, and at various points above I have also used Robert Gregg’s translation of The Life of Antony and the Letter to Marcellinus; E. P. Meijering’s translation of Against the Pagans, published in Contra Gentes; and the anonymous translation of On the Incarnation. For Greek texts, I have relied on the collection of Athanasius’s works found in Migne’s Patrologia Graeca, available online at Google Books. To find links to specific treatises, go to cyprianproject.info/PG.htm and scroll to vols. 25–28.
