Dear Brothers:
I have received your letter dated January 13, 2003 and I would like to thank you.
First, I would like to apologize for the error contained in my letter of December 15, 2002 to the Board of Directors. It came to my attention only last evening during the reading of the minutes and actions of the New Beginnings Church Board meeting. I have sent a corrected copy to your attention through your brother, Syam Pilli.
In reference to item #2: The church board of New Beginnings already voted unanimously to return to the UECF the $500.00 donated for the multi-media. However, of some concern to me is the reference that the fellowship or an individual in the fellowship was approached by an individual or individuals representing New Beginnings for contributions. I would like to know who approached because it is a matter which I must address as the pastor. Generally, we do not solicit funds for our church and her ministry from outside sources. We believe that it is the responsibility for the church and her membership to support the ongoing ministry through our tithes and offerings. If we are approached by an individual or organization who has a desire to contribute, that is a different matter and one we would consider. Your clarification in this matter would greatly be appreciated.
If you would like to apply the 500.00 to March 2003 which has 5 weeks, that would be o.k.
In regards to item #3: Conflicts of Interest. This, as stated, is a conflict because New Beginnings Church is growing and needs to expand the time and usage of our facilities to accomplish that which we feel God has called. It is not a conflict with the fellowship, simply a conflict in usage of the facilities.
