Leader: The Lord calls to you today. He speaks with words of old - words meant also for this day. He calls to you and says: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, you are mine."

People: Because he knows us and goes with us, when we pass through the waters and walk through the fire, we will not be afraid.

Leader: The Lord will not let the waters overwhelm you or the fire consume you. You are precious in his sight. He honors you and loves you. He has given people in return for you, nations in exchange for your life.

People: The Holy One of Israel is our Savior. He is with us. Glorious is his name. *Opening Hymn: ‘Great is Thy Faithfulness’ RCMH#43

*Covenant Prayer(Prayer written by John Wesley, founder of Methodism in 1755): I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Let us give thanks for all of God’s mercies. O God, our Covenant Friend, You have been gracious to us through all the years of our lives. We thank You for Your loving care, which has filled our days and brought us to this time and place.

You have given us life and reason, and set us in a world filled with Your glory. You have comforted us with family and friends, and ministered to us through the hands of our sisters and brothers.
