Silver Jubilee Wedding Anniversary

25 years of Joy in togetherness!

Sunil and Prafulla were married on 28th October 1998. 25 years ago, on this day, their wedding was held at the Centenary Methodist Church, in Hyderabad city in India. On the same day, India and Australia were playing in the Wills International Cup being held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sunil said, “If you come late to the church, I will go home and watch the match”! Prafulla came late and said, “Do what you want. I waited seven years after accepting your proposal. I am sure you can wait a few minutes. Anyway, just be happy India is winning”! India won in Dhaka. And Sunil won in Hyderabad. In fact, Sunil and Prafulla have both won; and they are still on their victory run. These days, Sunil has been running marathon after marathon, perhaps, in a never-ending celebration, according to his wife. This silver wedding anniversary couple’s adventurous journey has spanned ten homes in six cities across three countries - India, the UK, and the USA.

Faith will be the cornerstone of our family, they had both decided at the beginning. And we will build our home on Love and Laughter, they resolved. And they strived and are still striving together. Both love literature, drama and theatre. Prafulla has even scripted a few plays that were even captured for television. A few years ago, she quit her job in an IT company after she won a prestigious, all-expense paid fellowship to teach AP Biology in high school. Sunil is a seasoned corporate executive with a long and chequered career that took him places, many places, around the globe.

Their firstborn, Aman, had arrived in the year 2000 when they were in India, and Sahil was born in 2012. The two sons’ middle names, Ezekiel and Zacharias, respectively mean “God is my strength’ and “God remembers,” names that now seem quite appropriate for the family’s journey through the ups and downs of mountains and valleys. Aman is in NJIT and Sahil is at Woodrow Wilson Middle School.

Ministry and Church have always been a part of their lives. Teaching Sunday School in Ramnagar Baptist Church as a new bride, to hosting young people in their new home in Bengaluru, Prafulla was a part of Sunil’s vision of life. He began speaking and teaching at the Sports Ministry, Haggai Leadership Institute, and YFC to name a few, and continued to be a guest teacher at HI in Maui and Singapore. In London, they served in the Barking Baptist Church and Hillsong UK. They moved to New York in 2005 and to Edison in 2006 and have lived here since. Sunil and Prafulla were instrumental in starting JBQ in UECF, TCFNJ and India as well to inspire children along the way.

Now, on their 25th Anniversary, they would like to thank all their families, well-wishers, and friends in faith who have been their strength and support over the last two and half decades. It takes a tribe to travel along life’s pathways, and Sunil and Prafulla are grateful for good friends, joyful moments, and a lifetime of memories.
