Leader: Dear friends, faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

People: By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command. So that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Leader: by faith Abraham, even though he was past age – and Sarah herself was barren- was enabled to become a father because he considered Him faithful who had made the promise.

People: it is by grace we have been saved, through faith- and this is not of ourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.

Leader: so then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

*Opening Hymn: ‘My Faith Looks Up to Thee’ RCH#410 *Opening Prayer(in unison): Father, You love for us is eternal, it is a shield of protection even in death. Grant that we may so love each other as You have loved us. Prevent us from falling into a superficial friendship, help us seek true fellowship that is spiritual and rooted in Jesus and our faith. We confess that too often we take many things You have given us for granted. Your gift of family and friends, material things and nature. We often forget that we are to be good stewards of these gifts. Our selfishness often brings discord and dilemmas, it ruins our fellowship and leads to loss of faith. We seek Your help Lord and Your Spirit to become mindful and thankful. Forgive us for the times we have forgotten Your way and have become lost. Make us whole this evening by giving Your Word to us, by leading us to a renewed commitment to Your kingdom. Please give us the courage to give all things to You and walk in trust and exercise our faith. Mold us into the image of Jesus and teach us Your ways so that we may live worthy of Your Name, let our lives become a witness of words and actions that declare the praises of Jesus who is our Lord. We give glory to You dear Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
