About Dr. Deva Raju Patta

Dr. Patta Deva Raju, born on 10-10-1950 , retired as Principal of a Govt. Degree College in Andhra Pradesh during 2008. His wife is Indira, a Social Worker and active member of the ruling National Congress Party. His son Bharath is an ordained Minister of Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church and at present holding office as General Secretary of the Student Christian Movement of India. His daughter Annie lives in London with her husband. Dr. Patta is blessed with three grand children. At present, Dr. Patta is a member on the Executive Council of AELC and also acts as the Chairman of Board of College Education, AELC. He represents AELC on the Executive Committee of the National Council of Churches in India(NCCI), Nagpur. He is also on the Executive of the Andhra Christian Theological College(ACTC), Hyderabad and the Indian Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge(ISPCK), Delhi. He has been acting as President of the Christian Dalit Liberation Movement, Vellore. Formerly, he was the Vice-President of the Christian Institute for the Study of Religion and Society(CISRS), Banglore. Dr. Patta has been serving on the local chapters of Bible Society of India, Gideons International, Scripture Union, YMCA as its chair. An alumnus of the Haggai, Dr. Patta has been a Bible Study Leader and an itinerary Preacher in different parts of Andhra Pradesh. He is very popular Interpreter of Speakers from other parts. His services are widely recognized in the field of Higher Education as a resource person in offering Lectures on Communication Skills and Personality Developments. He has written articles on Religious, and contemporary Socio-economic issues in both Church and Secular Magazines. Dr. Patta visited more than twelve countries including Canada, Norway and Israel participating in many workshops and consultations.
