The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Let us pray.

O God, who gave us birth, you are ever more ready to hear than we are to pray. You know our needs before we ask, and our ignorance in asking. Give to us now your grace, that as we shrink before the mystery of death, we may see the light of eternity. Speak to us once more your solemn message of life and of death. Help us to live as those who are prepared to die. And when our days here are accomplished, enable us to die as those who go forth to live, so that living or dying, our life may be in you, and that nothing in life or in death will be able to separate us from your great love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Obituary of Mary Jayakar Kondagadapu

Mary Jayakar Kondagadapu, age 92, of Raritan, NJ, went to be with the Lord at the Rehab at River's Edge in Raritan on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Born in India, she was the daughter of the late Pastor Peter and Shanthi Kanapuram.

Mary was a teacher for 40 years at the Methodist Boys’ High School in Hyderabad, India before coming to the United States in 2004. She also served as a school administrator in Methodist

Institutions in Hyderabad, India. Her passion was teaching English and Social Studies.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Jayakar Samuel in 1996 and her eldest son, Parker Samuel in 1953. She is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. David Ravinder and his wife, Sarita

Ravinder; her three grandchildren: Sahan Ravinder [Sabitha Ravinder], Sanjita Livingston [Jim Livingston], and Amita Sawicki [Todd Sawicki], her great-grandchildren: Samrita Ravinder,

Kieran Livingston, Sravina Ravinder, Nehali Livingston, James Livingston, and Szephan Ravinder; and her younger brother, Yesurathnam Peter.

Mary was an active member and provided leadership serving as secretary, treasurer, and President of the Women’s Society of Christian Service in India. She loved gardening and enjoyed

singing Christian hymns (in both English and Telugu).

Burial will take place following the service at Rural Hill Cemetery, 13 Mill Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.

All are invited for a repast at the Whitehouse UMC in Friendship Hall following the burial.
