Reasons for Abraham Blessing
- Trusted God (Gen 12:1-4).
- Obeyed God(Gen22:1-10)
- Feared God(Gen22:12)
- Friend of God (II Chron. 20:7; Isa 41:8; James 2:23).
Trusted God(Gen 12:1-4)
- Abraham's father was a maker of idols.
- Abraham took a stand against idols in his youth.
- Abraham is a man who doesn't even know who Jehovah is.
- And yet the Lord appears before him and tells him.
- Abraham was willing to listen to God and obeyed Him.
- Abraham never doubted the Lord but placed his trust in Him.
- He set out to do what the Lord had commanded.
- God did not tell about all the details of his plan.
- When God blesses us, He does not always tell us in an advance what is going to happen.
- He asks us to trust Him and to believe that He will guide and perfect us.
Obeyed God(Gen22:1-10)
The Timing of Abraham’s Obedience
- He woke up early the next day.
- God never told him when to do this.
- Abraham: “I know what God wants me to do, so I’m going to do it”.
- Abraham’s obedience was immediate.
- Delayed obedience is disobedience.
- If God has commanded, don’t sit around and wonder. Just obey!

The Totality of Abraham’s Obedience
- No matter what, Abraham’s obedience would be complete.
- He believed God would provide, but he still built the altar.
- He still bound his son and he still raised the knife.
- When God gives you orders, decide from that starting that you will follow through to the end.
Feared God (Gen22:12)
- He considered that God is able to raise men even from the death(Heb11:19)
- The fear of the LORD prolonged days (Proverb 10:27).
- Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways.(psalms128:1)
Friend of God (II Chron. 20:7; Isa 41:8; James 2:23)
- Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness and he was called God's friend.
Abraham was a peacemaker. (Gen 13:7-9).
Abraham had incredible patience with God
Abraham had incredible patience with God
Abraham is truthful and faithful in his heart.
The Trust in Abraham’s Obedience
