Leader: Happy are those whose hope is in the Lord their God.

People: Our God upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. Leader: The Lord sets the prisoners free; he opens the eyes of the blind and he lifts up those who are bowed down. People: The Lord cares for the stranger and sustains the widow and the orphan.

Leader: Our God loves the righteous, but the ways of the wicked he brings to nothing. People: I will exalt the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God while I have being.
