Leader: How excellent is your loving kindness, how marvelous is your grace, how wonderful are your deeds, O God, my loving Father. Let us put our trust in the name of the Lord. Let us live secure under the shadow of His wings!

People: Almighty, eternal loving Lord Father of us all, we are mindful of the freedom you have given us. Yet in some way we are enslaved to sin and selfishness. We gather together in the name of Jesus to honor, worship and pray for forgiveness. Come Holy Spirit of God and redeem us in the love of Jesus. Amen!

*Opening Prayer(in unison): Father, we admit to pretending that all is fine yet we live in a difficult world. There are mountains that we cannot climb valleys that are terrifying, situations that we cannot handle and we readily give up in the thought that we cannot and will not make it.

Program Details

Forgive us for not bringing these situations to You and trusting in Your word. We know that Your word says that You will see us through no matter what the circumstances might be. We know in our gut that Your Word is true but we fail to apply it to our lives and the situations we face. We let our hearts become troubled and give in to fear instead of confidence. This morning we declare that Your Word is true, that You have blessed us with many gifts. You have led us this far but we have taken You for granted and we have often thought that this is entitlement. You have bequeathed to us Your peace which is far superior to that which the world offers yet we are puzzled by our actions that seek the peace of the world. Grant that we may so believe and act on Your Word.

Bring us to real faith by Your Spirit. Let us respond to Your Word instead of worrying and going against Your will and Word. Teach us to abide in Your unfailing eternal promise. Empower us to discover the joy of a quiet and restful spirit. Let us find expression in thanksgiving and service to those in need. As You children free us from self and sin and release us to be anchored in Your revelation. Let our minds be stayed on Your vision for the world especially for our families and communities. Blessed You were, blessed You are, and blessed You always will be! To this we surrender ourselves in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen!
