About Rev. Nelson Vantabathina
Pastor Nelson is the Senior Pastor of “Gethsemane Evangelical Free Church” of Hyderabad. He was born in a traditional Christian family. After completion of studies, he worked for the finance department of A.P and resigned his job on God's call for full time ministry. He studied Theology in South Wales Bible College, England, U.K. After completing his theological studies, he waited upon the Lord for a clear direction for the ministry. He started the ministry with 5 people and his family members. Now 5 people became 2,500 people and 1 pastor became 12 pastors and 1 church became 35 churches. This is not overnight success but the work produced by prayer and preaching, tears and toil seeking to avoid any easy- believism. Pastor Nelson is the convener for twin cities Pastor’s Prayer Fellowship and holds important positions as chairman, secretary, coordinator for many crusades, conferences, seminars and organizations.
Preaching the Gospel:
Preaching the Gospel in Hyderabad and villages through Bible studies, crusades, conferences and seminars.
Preparing the church members as ministers and soul winners through discipleship training.
The vision is to preach the gospel in urban and rural places inspite of opposition and persecution. God honored this vision and commitment and blessed the ministry.
To raise missionaries from the church to serve the un-reached people.
The church is already supporting a missionary in Bihar, which is known as the burial ground of missionaries and a missionary in Islamic country, Bangladesh.
Planting the Churches:
35 Churches, including gospel centers were planted, of which some of them Preaching are in districts, which are 170KM away from Hyderabad
Buildings are being constructed where the congregation is growing. Some of the congregations are gathering in rented buildings.
The church is praying for the construction of sufficient building for the growing congregation in Hyderabad to accommodate 2000 members with facilities like prayer tower (for intercessory prayers that is open
24 hrs), parking, Sunday school rooms, office rooms, guest rooms, and board meeting room. The land for this project has already been purchased.
Providing for the under-privileged:
There are numerous poor widows and children in villages, the church is helping them with some necessities.
They have bigger plans to build widow’s homes, orphanages, schools, medical facilities etc. The Pastor’s children and their families have already purchased the land for this purpose.
