About Bro. Ebenezer John
Ebenezer John, one of the leading Christian musicians in India, an accomplished lead guitarist and composer has travelled to many countries sharing the gospel through music. He has accompanied the world's top worship leaders & musicians on stage in thier live concerts both in Indian & abroad. He has played for famous worship leaders like Don Moen, Bob Fitts, Paul Wilbur, Sandy Hoffman, Karen Lafferty and other artists of this calibure. Ebenezer John was born on the 21st of July 1971 to devout parents who were the pastors of a local church in Bangalore. His father, recognizing his special musical talent at a young age, bought him a guitar when he was 10 years old, with the hopeful desire that his son would dedicate his gift to God and play in the church. But Ebenezer had his own plans, and at the age of 17, he decided to cut loose from his roots and run away in the search and fulfillment of his own dreams. So great was his passion for music that he would travel penniless and hungry all the way to Chennai, a journey of 270 miles by train, to receive a half-hour lesson from a renowned teacher. Nothing else mattered to him except the honing of his musical skill, and he was prepared to give up on everything he loved and held dear, just to be able to excel in his art. Soon the gigs began pouring in and Ebby began traveling all over India playing in bars, nightclubs and five star hotels to support himself. He was a session guitarist with a vast and versatile range of musical genres that ranged from jazz, country, rock, classical and Spanish styles. This remarkable flexibility in his music kept him busy throughout the year playing for corporate launches, jingles, theatre and other recordings. It was an exciting and fulfilling career, but with it also came all the trappings of a bohemian lifestyle; drugs, alcohol, nicotine, he indulged freely in them all and enjoyed them as part of the package deal.
