Mr. M. Stephen Raveendra, IPS

Muthyala Stephen Raveendra, IPS is the present Additional Director General of Police of Home Guards, Police Welfare and Sports, Telangana. In the past, he was Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Director, Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau and Inspector General of Police of West Zone (Hyderabad and Nizamabad Ranges). Mr. Raveendra is a 1999 batch Regular Recruit of the Indian Police Service who was trained at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad.

Officer Raveendra is the son of an illustrious Police Officer, Late Mr. M. B. Ranjit, who retired as the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Asifnagar Division, Hyderabad. Raveendra was schooled at St. Paul's High School and Little Flower Junior College, Hyderabad. He graduated from Nizam College with a B.Sc in Genetics and was awarded a gold medal in M.Sc in Zoology from Osmania University.

Stephen Raveendra began his career as ASP Parkal, Warangal, where he received training in anti-extremism efforts. He subsequently served as Additional SP, Bellampally and as SP of Warangal, Anantpur, and Karimnagar districts, where he effectively countered naxalism and factionalism. Mr. Raveendra's tenure as DCP in Hyderabad was pivotal in successfully combating the drug problem. Mr. Raveendra served as the Chief Security Officer for the late Shri Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He also led the counter-insurgency operations at Greyhounds, a prestigious and an elite anti-extremism force.

Mr. Raveendra in a dare-devil act of self-less courage saved the lives of 61 patients who were trapped in a fire accident in a hospital for which he was awarded the prestigious Prime Minister's Life saving Medal. Likewise, he was awarded Gallantry medal for high-risk anti-extremist operations.

Stephen Raveendra is celebrated for his uprightness and impeccable track record. His commitment to unwavering integrity and moral principles has earned him widespread respect. He embodies true Christian values and serves as a beacon of inspiration for younger generations, continuing to motivate them to excel in their education and careers.
