April 10th, 2011 Worship Service
Leader: As a shepherd seeks a lost sheep,
People: So God seeks and saves the lost.
Leader: Like a woman who searches for a lost coin until it is found,
People: so God rejoices over one soul restored to wholeness.
Leader: As a father receives a returning wayward son,
People: so God welcomes us, and lets the past be the past.
Leader: Therefore let us praise God in thanksgiving that we are received.
People: Let us receive and welcome and rejoice over one another in the name of Jesus Christ.
Lord we pray that You will set us free from ourselves, we desire to follow You and honor You and become like Jesus. We want to let Your unchanging truth change our lives. Deliver us from weakening our faith and running after temporal values and transient dreams. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse us from sin that easily entangle our lives and hold us captive. We seek renewal, even as we are forgiven. Give us the courage and integrity of heart set right things we have undone by our words, our deeds and our own selfish pursuits. Let us experience the joy of forgiveness as we humbly take responsibility for our own part in the process. Let us come to Your table in Spirit and Truth, receive the ministry of Your body and blood and then go out in Your name to live victoriously. We give glory to God in the name of Jesus. Amen!
