Leader: It is true that the people welcomed Jesus into their midst. Their hosannas rang out, they called upon him as a savior, a mighty king.
People: They hoped that the he would cast the oppressors out of their land and bring them glory and honor as did King David before him.
Leader: But Jesus walked a different path to glory and worked in a different way to bring God's salvation to the people.
People: The people did not understand this way - and when Jesus was betrayed into the hands of the authorities and did not fight, they turned on him, seeing him as a failure.
Leader: Even as he lay down his life for them, those closest to him fled in fear.
People: Even Peter, the rock thought of his own needs first.

About Rev. Joseph V. Theophilus
Rev. Joseph V. Theophilus is currently the Pastor of The New Covenant Church, NJ. After his Theological Teaching, Training and Ordination, he was an Associate and Youth Pastor of Pentecostal Church in India. Later he served as the Senior Pastor & Regional Director of New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Melbourne, planting & overseeing many churches in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and establishing mission outposts in Indonesia & Philippines. He was a member of Editorial board for 3 different monthly magazines publishing articles regularly. He was also the senior editorial member of board for publishing Sunday School syllabus for grades 1-11 which is currently being followed in about 50 countries.
