March 16th, 2013 Worship Service

Welcome & Greetings
*Call to Worship(Responsive Reading):

Leader: I sought the Lord, and He answered me.

People: He delivered me from all my fears.

Leader: Look to Him, and be radiant;

People: The Lord hears our cry and saves in our troubles.

Leader: Many are our afflictions and troubles.

People: But the Lord delivers us through them all.

*Opening Hymn ‘Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross’ RCH#385
*Opening Prayer (in Unison) O God we gather to worship you this day. We have come to you in thanksgiving and praise, to know that you are God and to place our lives anew into your hands. Enlarge our vision this hour with your Word. Instill in us, your hope in place of our despair, your peace where our distress threatens, your joy amidst our depression, your love overwhelming our apathy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen!

About Rev. Barnabas Sajja

Rev. Barnabas Sajja was born in one of the highest privileged Hindu families in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India and practiced idol worship till the year 1971. His education couldn't take its full form and he was forced to discontinue his studies due to the political agitation in his region. In order to support his living he lived in a far off town which was about 700 kms. from his home town where he became a slave to idols, cinemas and was indulged in various worldly affairs. At this point when he was leading a sinful life, he received a letter from his elder sister who had already accepted Jesus as her saviour. The letter made him to think of the real life and encouraged him to take a Bible and read it.

Being encouraged by his mother, for the first time he stepped into a church at the end of the year 1971. There he tasted the love of the Lord for the first time in his life. He was touched and warned by the Lord through Joel 2:12-14 and got saved from the coming judgment and hell fire. He was miraculously called by the Lord to serve HIM full time in the year 1973. Rev . Barnabas Sajja was trained in the Church of God Bible College, Kakinada. After completing his course successfully he stepped into the Master's Vineyard on the 1st day of March, 1976, just 14 days after his marriage with Jeevan Rani. His determination commitment and obedience to the Lord's call made him a great blessing to many people. His zeal and enthusiasm for the Lord's ministry gave him an opportunity to go through a "Leadership Training Programme" at the Christ for the Nations Institution 1987-88. Gospel Prayer Temple Ministries was established in the year 1996 with a mission To Preach Pray and Build. The Ministry that was started with fastings, tested with battles and watered with tears, has now become a hope to the hopeless, shelter to the homeless, giving love to the rejected ,proclaiming Gospel to the perishing souls and taking care of many poor and orphan kids.
