Leader: We gather to worship God and to give thanks to him for his love.

People: We are here to praise God for all his promises and for how they have been fulfilled in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Leader: We are here to remember the day that Jesus entered Jerusalem and was acclaimed as the Messiah by all.

People: We are here to recall how Jesus was enthroned on the praises of his people.

Leader: We are here also to recall how Jesus was abandoned to his death on the cross.

People: We celebrate today - and yet we also mourn.
