Leader: The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

People: Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.

Leader: There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

People: Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun,

Leader: which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

People: It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is hidden from its heat.

*Opening Prayer(in unison): Loving God, in this season of lent, we examine our thoughts, motives and lives. We recognize that we need to repent of our selfishness and sin. We need to be real and willing to give up those habits, behaviors that prevent us from living the full potential of our lives. We realize that we are so much present oriented that we give no thought of investing in the promise of God. We have become so self centered that we bear little or no fruit, much less share with others spiritual gifts that You have given to us. You know where we have slipped and fallen, You know the areas where we cave in. So we pray that You would sustain in us in our faith journey, bring us to the place of submission to Your will, give us the courage to do the work of the kingdom in caring, serving and sharing with others You name, salvation and amazing grace. Amen!

International Women's Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.

Started as a political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries (primarily Russia and the countries of former Soviet bloc). In some celebrations, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day mixed together. In others, however, the political and human rights theme as designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.

The IWD is also celebrated as the first spring holiday, as in the listed countries the first day of March is considered the first day of the spring season.
