* Prayer of Confession(unison): Eternal Spirit, we give You thanks for Your abundant blessings that make it possible for us to be together in the company of friends and neighbors whom we love and trust. We give thanks that our needs are met, we have health, we have strength, and although many among us are not here, yet You have given us the opportunity to be here in peace to raise our songs of praise to You. We watch with anticipation as the days gradually lengthen, and the promise of new life that trembles just beneath the surface in nature, and we pray that we too may brim with life that is within us. This time around there has been so much that has happened, causing many to be in distress, many to be in mourning, many who are befret of hope, we ask Your forgiveness that we have been so occupied with our own selfish concerns that we have forgotten them who suffer and need our prayers and our gifts. We ask that You would watch over homeless men and women who huddle in some street corner as the bitter cold bears on them. We ask that You would comfort those who are dealing with loss of property or a loved one. We ask for those who are shut in because of illness or infirmities that You would send Your life giving Word. We ask Your presence for those who silently bear burdens of depression, grief, loneliness and fear that in their dark days You would be with them in Your eternal grace. But above all we ask that You would speak to us and reveal to us what You would have us do, Lord let Your spirit transform the world, but let it begin with me. To this end bring the light of Your word and the power of Your Spirit into my heart. In the matchless name of Jesus. Amen!
