*Call to Worship(Responsive Reading):

Leader: God has made glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. People: The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Leader: God has brought great joy to the nation. People: People rejoice before him because of what he has done. Leader: God has broken the yoke that burdened them and the rod that beat their shoulders. People: He has shone the light of his love upon them and set them free. *Opening Hymn: ‘O worship the King, all glorious above ’ UMH#73

*Opening Prayer (in Unison) Almighty God, you sent your Son to proclaim your kingdom and to teach with authority. Anoint us with the power of your Spirit, that we, too, may bring good news to the afflicted. Help us to rejoice in your presence and to offer the sacrifice of prayer and praise. We worship you and thank you for your saving grace and love. Amen!
