The Faithful Christian
Billy Graham · An Anthology compiled by William Griffin & Ruth Graham Dienert

About this book
The Faithful Christian: An Anthology of Billy Graham, compiled by William Griffin and Ruth Graham Dienert
This anthology gathers short, topical excerpts drawn from more than a dozen of Billy Graham's published books, articles, and sermons — from Calling Youth to Christ (1947) through Storm Warning (1993) — arranged into twenty-one broad subject chapters that trace the whole shape of the Christian life: the nature of God, sin and temptation, the new birth, prayer, angels, suffering, death, judgment, the resurrection, the end times, and the hope of Christ's return. It closes with a set of seven searching questions Graham posed for self-examination. Rather than one continuous narrative, the book works like a topical devotional reference, gathering Graham's characteristic, plainspoken evangelistic voice on dozens of subjects in one volume. A foreword by compiler Ruth Graham Dienert introduces the collection and its arrangement.

A voice from the book
“As much as my wife Ruth and I enjoy our home, we spend very little time there because God has called us into the valley of life where the lost people are. If we spent all our time in the hills and on mountaintops, how would we effectively serve God?”
— Billy Graham, quoted in The Faithful Christian

About Billy Graham
William Franklin "Billy" Graham Jr. (1918–2018) was an American evangelist who preached in person to more crusade audiences than any other figure in Christian history, reaching millions more through radio, television, and film across more than six decades of ministry. Ordained as a Southern Baptist minister, he founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and became a spiritual counselor to numerous U.S. presidents. The Faithful Christian draws together short passages from many of his books and sermons on the core themes of his lifelong preaching: sin, salvation, and the person of Jesus Christ.
