It’s started with an immensely invigorated passion that’s unlike most of its kind but was blessed to earn a title called the “Swara Shilpi” of today’s Christian Telugu Gospel Music Ministry by Late. Shri. R.R.K Murthy. With a humbled heart of a servant Dr. P. J. D Kumar began his ministry 42 years back in the year 1978 and since then has been composing some of the most amazing tunes that have been sung wholeheartedly by many Christians even today. The song “Siluva lo Nakai Karchenu ” (The Blood of Jesus on the cross was shed for me) and “Kreesthu Puttenu” (Christ is born - a well-known Christmas Song) are one of the many all-time favorites that people still love to sing on the occasion of Good Friday and Christmas, remembering the birth and sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The song “Sampoorna Maina Ni Krupa” (The fullness in God’s mercy) received a huge applause among the Christian community and is been heard and sung in many sunday worship and revival meetings.
Having worked with veteran ministers, preachers, pastors, priests, gospel and non-gospel singers, and various other inter-denominational churches and ministries, Dr. P. J. D Kumar has the privilege of being able to compose and arrange gospel songs with Christian communities based not only in India but also across US, UK, Canada, Australia and other Christian Communities living in different parts of the globe.
Dr. P.J.D Kumar has been conducting The United Christmas Celebrations Choir (UCCC) in Hyderabad for the last 12 years consecutively. He has been able to manage a choir group of more than 1000 members across India. This opportunity and joy to serve God has been the most dignifying experience. His passion and burden to serve God wholeheartedly is the key outcome of his ministry through which he desires to serve God by bringing soulful and harmonious gospel songs based on Christ’s invaluable and priceless beatitudes. This indeed is a satisfying serving experience than any other. From a milestone record of composing more than 2000 Christian Gospel Songs and over 500 Albums in 4 different languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi & Kannada, that’s one long journey in the Christian Telugu Gospel Music Ministry carried on by him since 1978 till today.
Born into a musical family Dr. Pakalapati John Deva Kumar started his ministry at a young age and was getting trained in learning the Harmonium by his father Late. Mr. Pakalpati James in Khammam, India and while mother Late. Mrs. Mano Mani Nadar upheld the entire family in daily prayers along with 3 other siblings. Dr. Pakalapati John Deva Kumar is happily married to Mrs. Mercy Monica Kancherla for the last 37 years and is blessed with two beautiful daughters Dr. Shruthi Kothapalli married to Dr. Karun Kothapalli settled in UK and Ms. Preethi Emmanuel Ambadipudi married to Mr. Emmanuel Joseph Ambadipudi settled in Poland & three grandchildren Sherlyn Kothapalli, Zeus Emmanuel Ambadipudi and Jaydan Kothapalli.
